Here at Quasar Minds Tutoring, students will reinforce academic skills or learn new ones through interactive and engaging activities in the chosen subject. Academic Subject

Reading & Spelling

Students will be assessed on their reading level during our first session prior to the start of the program. Based on the results, students will be learning or reinforcing skills they need to improve their reading and spelling abilities. Some of the concepts of focus are phonological and phonemic awareness, decoding multi-letter phonograms, spelling irregular high frequency words, fluency, and comprehension. Lessons will consist of interactive activities, games, and mini assessments to track the student’s progress.

Curricula: Logic of English, Signs for Sounds, UFLI

Academic Subject

Math

Prior to the start of the program, students will be assessed on their knowledge of math concepts during our first session. Based on the results, we will work on either developing grade level concepts that need reinforcement, or introduce new challenging skills to get students ready for their next grade level. We will utilize the AL Abacus to make sense of numbers and mathematical problems in a kinesthetic and visual approach. Students will learn, practice, and review their math facts by playing card games and using manipulatives for a fun and interactive experience. Areas of focus include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, money, clocks, and geometry.

Mrs. Ana was a perfect fit for my daughter. We used Mrs. Ana’s tutoring services for Right Start math and LOE spelling for a year. My daughter had tried a couple other math tutors that didn’t connect well with her. However, when she tried a zoom with Mrs. Ana she immediately connected with her and always had great sessions with her. My daughter definitely build a better foundation in math and spelling while working with her. If we ever needed services in these areas of schooling again, Mrs. Ana would be the first person I would reach out to. Mrs. Ana was always very easy to communicate with and work with. I have recommended her to others and will continue to.

What a treasure! Ana has served as our nanny in the past and currently as my 5 year old son’s math and reading tutor. I’ve never seen a child get so excited to learn – but that’s all because Ana meticulously selects and crafts curriculums that are fun and engaging and leave students feeling empowered! My son can’t wait until the next sessions (he even does 2 back to back because he loves it so much!).

I can’t possibly recommend Ana highly enough – she is an incredibly diligent, trustworthy, kind and engaging leader, teacher, nanny and friend! We are over the moon with the progress our son is making – thank you for everything, Ana, you will always be a part of our family!

Mrs. Ana has been a wonderful resource for our family. We are starting our second year of Right Start Math together with two of my children. Mrs. Ana has nurtured and deepened their interest and abilities in math. I am consistently amazed at how she is able to connect and bond with them as individuals while also staying fully devoted to tackling hard math lessons. She makes their sessions fun with games and encouragement, but they are also challenged to perform at their highest level.

Mrs. Ana is amazingly organized and a wonderful communicator.
